Lets Kick It With Girls Soccer

By Ali Failor & Katie Bean

The girls soccer team has started the season strong. With a powerful team they go into the season head on with high hopes. They’ll have to work as a team to get to where they want to be by the end of the season.
Freshman Alex Walgren said, “We’re doing really well as a team.” Senior Hannah Peck agreed, saying, “We have better teamwork and communication skills on the field.” The team has to work together to play well. Walgren said, “We encourage each other and push each other to do our best.”
This hard working team has some high hopes for the rest of the season. Peck said she hopes they, “win enough games to make it to state and have a good seat.” The hopes for state seem to echo through the team. They want to win and make it far.
Soccer in general has its pros and cons. Walgren said that some of the positives are, “you stay in shape and you get an adrenaline rush when you run down the field.” Peck agreed that there are positives but there is one negative, practice everyday from 5:15-7pm. It falls towards the end of the day so it’s kind of inconvenient, but it seems to be paying off.
With two more games left the team has to give it all they’ve got to make it to state. Hopefully the can keep it all together and play as team. I think Walgren speaks for the team when she said, “I hope we win.”
